This is always an exceptional juried exhibit with artists bringing in their favorite and best works. I will be showing a new etching, Generations, which was inspired by the view of farm fields as seen from the air. I took many photos from the plane over the midwest of these circular field patterns. I will also be showing one of the monoprints I did while at Woodstock last winter.
Also this weekend, August 18, will be the second Summer Sidewalk Sale at the Athenaeum Garden from 9 am – 2 pm. Come meet the artists and see a wide range of affordable art on display.
The Print Collaborative will be on Saturday August 5 from 10 – 12 with demonstrations, hands on for kids, Student exhibit and refreshments. Stop by and join in the fun.
The print exhibit will continue at the VAC until early September. Many of the works shown will be those done during print workshops and classes. I will have three pieces in the exhibit bin that I did during the Dan Weldon Solar Plate workshop. Singing Bowls, shown here, was done with 3 plates, the first plate is a solar plate intaglio and the golden orange plates are 2 relief solar plates.
Stop by the Hotpoint Emporium at 39 State Street for gifts and art by local artists and artisans. I have a full array of my pieces there including scarves, monoprints and etchings.
